My name is Charlotte Kouklia, and I am passionate about helping non-native speakers master the nuances of oral French. Since defending my thesis in 2019, I have dedicated myself to assisting learners in achieving fluency and proficiency through the often-overlooked elements of intonation, stress, and rhythm.
My academic journey began in Paris at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, where I completed both my Master’s and Ph.D. at the renowned Laboratoire de Phonétique et Phonologie (LPP) at Paris 3. This foundation has equipped me with deep insights into the intricacies of French phonetics and prosody.
I have been teaching linguistics and French as a Foreign Language (FLE) since 2013. I had the honor of joining the specialized oral FLE training team led by Bertrand Lauret and Claire Pillot-Loiseau. This prestigious program has successfully guided hundreds of foreign students and learners towards mastering French pronunciation.
My professional experience includes working at the Alliance Française in Brussels, where I coached diplomats and officials at the European Commission and European Parliament. Currently, I collaborate with the University of Louvain-la-Neuve as a scientific contributor, promoting phonetic and prosody-focused FLE instruction.
The demand for more personalized support with pronunciation led to the development of my specialized coaching services. Initially, my clients got to know me through group classes and then sought out individual sessions to focus more intensively on their specific needs. Thanks to their recommendations, my one-on-one coaching has grown significantly.
